        1964 Berlin Film Festivali’nde Altın Ayı ödülü almış ilk Türkiye yapımı film olan Susuz Yaz, Ege köyünde yaşayan Osman ve Hasan adlı iki kardeşe ait topraktan çıkan suyun köydeki dengeleri nasıl değiştirdiğini anlatır. Ağabey Osman, suyun kendilerine ait olduğunu iddia ederek etrafını çevirir ve köylülerin sudan faydalanmasına izin vermez. Kardeşi Hasan, aynı fikirde değildir. Su Osman’ın arazisinden çıktığı için onun malı olduğuna hükmedilir ve suyun önüne set çekilir. Susuz kalan köylüler, Osman’la kavga ederler.
