        'Madama Butterfly'

        Madama Butterfly kendisini kocasına adamaya hazır, genç bir geyşadır. 15 yaşında olan Butterfly, Japonya'ya gelen Amerikan subayı Pinterkon ile evlenir ve Pinkerton'un
        dinine geçer. Dinini değiştirmesi ile bunu kendi kültürlerine
        bir hakaret olarak gören Butterfly'ın ailesi onu reddeder. Butterfly'ın artık Pinkerton ve sadık yardımcısı Suzuki'den başka kimsesi kalmamıştır. Pinkerton evliliklerinden kısa bir süre sonra Amerika'ya geri döner. Bu arada hamile olan Butterfly, senelerce sabırla Pinkerton'u
        bekler. Pinkerton bu süre zarfında Amerika'da evlenmiştir.
        Pinkerton  üç yaşına gelen oğlunu almak için Japonya'ya gelir. Pinkerton'un kendisine ihanet ettiğini gören ve bu üç yıl boyunca hayal kurduğunu anlayan Butterfly  babasından kalma hançer ile intihar eder.
