        Nihat Durak'ın yönettiği Babam, genç öğretmen Feride'nin hayatlarına dahil olmasıyla zihinsel engelli oğluna bakışı değişen Yusuf'un hikâyesini anlatıyor.

        Yusuf Tunalı (Çetin Tekindor) batmakta olan sardalya konserve fabrikasını kurtarmaya çalışırken, karısının ölümüyle zihinsel engelli oğlu Arif'le (Berker Güven) baş başa kalır. Oğlunu, engeli sebebiyle yıllardır kabullenememiş Yusuf için bu durum büyük bir sınav olacaktır. Genç öğretmen Feride (Melisa Şenolsun), atanamadığı için Yusuf'un fabrikasında çalışmaya başlar. Arif, Feride'nin ilgisiyle kabuğundan çıktıkça, Yusuf'un da Arif'e olan bakışı değişir. Yusuf, Feride ve Arif'in yaşadıkları, çevrelerinde olup bitenler, bu üç insanı birbirine daha da yakınlaştırır. Yusuf içinde saklı olan iyi insan, Feride ve oğlu Arif'in etkisiyle gün yüzüne çıkmaya başlar. Dertleri ve sorumlulukları Yusuf'un kendisinden hiç beklenmeyecek sürpriz kararlar almasına yol açar.
