        Yönetmenliğini Mehmet Öztürk'ün yaptığı filmin senaryosu Mehmet Öztürk ile Bedi Gümüşlü'ye ait. Türk-Fransız ortak yapımı olan Defne'nin Bir Mevsimi'nde Hande Subaşı, Gökhan Alkan ve Mert Öcal gibi oyuncular yer alıyor.
        Türkiye'nin çalkantılı bir yaz mevsiminde geçen film, romans ile politik dram arasında ilerliyor. Zengin bir ailenin kızı Defne'ye aşık iki fakir kardeşin hikâyesini anlatan film, Antakya'nın kültürel, etnik ve dinsel kozmopolit ortamını yansıtırken Ortadoğu'da her şeyin birdenbire nasıl değiştiğini gösteriyor. Dününden bugününe, bu güzel ama zorlu coğrafyaya ışık tutan film, Doğu Akdeniz'in lirik bir tasvirini yapmayı hedefliyor.
