        Kelebeğin Rüyası'ndan 3,5 yıl sonra kamera arkasına geçen Yılmaz Erdoğan, senaryosunu yazıp yönettiği "Ekşi Elmalar" ile Türkiye'nin 30 yıllık yakın tarihini kalabalık bir aile hikayesi üzerinden dev bir prodüksiyonla sinemaya taşıyor.


        Yılmaz Erdoğan'ın canlandırdığı Belediye Başkanı Aziz Özay, eşi Ayda (Devrim Yakut) ve birbirinden güzel kızları Muazzez (Farah Zeynep Abdullah), Türkan (Songül Öden) ve Safiye'nin (Şükran Ovalı) 1970'li yılların sonunda Hakkari'de muhteşem bir elma bahçesi içindeki evlerinde başlayan hikaye 90'lı yılların sonunda Antalya'da son buluyor.
