        Katıldığı birçok festivalden ödül almış sayısız filme imza atan yönetmen Atom Egoyan'dan her anı sürprizlerle dolu, sürükleyici bir o kadar da dokunaklı bir yapım.

        Hafızası ile ilgili sorunlar yaşayan yaşlı bir adam olan Zev, yeni kaybettiği karısı Rurh'un yasını tutmaktadır. Karısına ölmeden önce verdiği intikam sözü onu hayatta tutan tek güçtür. Zev bakım evindeki yaşlı arkadaşı Max'in de yardımı ile Max ve kendi ailesini Auschwitz toplama kampında katleden ve yıllarca kaçak olarak yaşayan esrarengiz adamı bulmaya ve öldürmeye yemin eder. Max'in, kendisinin hatırlayamadığı tüm yaşananları ve bu kimliği belirsiz katili bulmak için gereken tüm ipuçlarını yazdığı mektubu da alarak intikam ateşi ile yola koyulur. Ancak Zev'in bilmediği tek şey intikam yolculuğunda en büyük düşmanının kendi hafızası olduğudur.
