    Edirne'de yaşayan Tahsin, ziraat teknikeridir. Genç adam hayatını yalanlar üzereine kurmuştur. Çevresindeki insanlar, Tahsin'in sürekli yalan söylediğini bilse de, yine de kendilerini onun yalanlarına kanmış olarak bulur. Tahsin'in çocukluk arkadaşı olan Sadık, uzatmalı aşkı Halime'nin babasını ikna edince, evlilik hazırlıklarına başlar. Düğün için Pınarhisar'a doğru yola koyulan Tahsin, berberinde bir kasa Afrika armudu marulayı da götürür. Yiyen insanları bilinç kaybına uğratan zehirli armut marula, sadece Tahsin'in hayatını etkilemekle kalmaz, düğünü, Sümsük Kamil’i, asosyal kitap kurdu Koray’ı ve belediye başkanını da içinden çıkılmaz olayların içine sürükler.
