        Brezilyalı yönetmen Sérgio Machado'nun yönettiği Heliopolis Keman Öğretmeni, umudun ve sevginin gücüne inanan amatör bir orkestranın nelere kadir olabileceğini anlatıyor.

        Sao Paulo senfoni orkestrasına girmeyi kafasına takmış başarılı bir keman virtüözü. Art arda gelen başarısızlıklardan bıkmış ve geçici olarak bir lisede müzik öğretmenliği yapmaya karar verir. Ancak gittiği lise Sao Paulo'nun en belalı mahallesi Heliopolis'dedir. Başlarda her şey imkansız gibi görünse de her zorluğa rağmen umut ve sevgi dolu bu orkestra hem öğretmenin hem de orkestra üyelerinin hayatını tamamen değiştirecektir.
