Visitor Theater Play
"You know... just before you fall asleep... before you start dreaming or when you are in deep sleep... Where is man then?"
As the world hears the footsteps of World War II, the famous Dr. Sigmund Freud is in distress in his Vienna apartment. The disease that has begun to sweep across Europe has also gripped Austria. Freud, who is torn between emigrating from his country despite the values he believes in, is most worried about his daughter. On top of that, there is an annoying person constantly knocking on his door. As if all this were not enough, a very, very mysterious Visitor will show up and ruthlessly question all of Dr. Freud's views, thoughts, beliefs and values. In the balance of conflicting values such as leaving and staying, fascism and resistance, god and disbelief, humanity and cruelty, family and society, professional responsibility and individual salvation, reality and dreams, Dr. Freud has to reach a life and death decision after his "sessions" with this mysterious Visitor. After all, who is this mysterious Visitor? Can he really be who he claims to be? Could these events be real?
Written by Eric - Emmanuel Schmitt and directed by Berfin Zenderlioğlu, 'The Visitor' will ask us these questions from the stage, touching the deepest and most fragile points of the human soul: "Should one try to save a canary while an entire city is burning?"
