Mert Yazıcıoğlu İstanbul'da doğdu. Aydın Üniversitesi'nde öğrenim gördü. Eğitim alırken oyunculuğa ilgi gösterdi ve 3 MOTA Ümit Cirak Modern Oyunculuk Teknikleri Atölyesi'nde eğitimine başladı. Televizyon kariyerine 2012'de ''Kayip Sehir'' dizisi ile başladı ve '' Karagül'' ve ''Umuda'' karakteriyle tanındı.
