Randy Esen ve Güç Başar Gülle’nin öğrencisi, genç caz vokalisti Esra Gürçay, 2022 yılında kurduğu grubu ile festival sahnesinde yerini alıyor. Midtown Alışveriş ve Yaşam Merkezi’ne ev sahipliği için teşekkür ederiz.

Grup, repertuvarında geleneksel ve modern caz standartlarının yanında, jazz-fusion, funk ve neo-soul gibi türlere ve orijinal bestelere de yer veriyor. Esra Gürçay Quartet, 2023 yılında İKSV'nin düzenlediği Genç Caz+ 23 yarışmasının kazananlarından biri olarak, İKSV sponsorluğunda ve Sony Müzik etiketiyle ilk orijinal bestelerini kaydedip yayınlamaya hak kazandı. Aynı sene, Esra Gürçay Nardis Genç Caz Vokal Yarışmasına katılarak ödül aldı. Grup İstanbul Caz Festivali, Akra Caz Festivali, Nardis Caz Kulübü, Pera77 ve Gregor Caz Kulübü gibi pek çok sahnede yer alıyorlar ve bu sene ilk defa Uluslararası Bodrum Caz Festivali’nde sahne alacaklar.

Türkiye'de caz müziğin öncü isimlerinden olan gitarist Önder Focan bu kez son dönemlerde birlikte çaldıkları yeni neslin en beğenilen ve talep gören caz müzisyenlerinden bascı Enver Muhamedi ve davulcu Burak Cihangirli ile caz severlerle buluşmaktadır. Sahnede Önder Focan Trio’ya 19. Nardis Genç Caz Vokal Yarışması’nda ödül alan Güneş Cengiz eşlik ediyor. Midtown Alışveriş ve Yaşam Merkezi’ne ev sahipliği için teşekkür ederiz.

Kasım 2018'de Arjantin Buenos Aires Jazz Festivali, 2023 Bulgaristan Bansko Jazz Festivali dahil yurt içi ve yurt dışında birçok başarılı konser veren Önder Focan Trio, 2020’de olumlu eleştiriler alan Nu Book, 2022’de is Aubergine (patlıcan) adlı albümleri de çıkarmıştır.

Grubun repertuarı Önder Focan'ın caz standartları ve değişik kaynaklı parçalara bu dinamik grup için yaptığı düzenlemeler ve Önder Focan bestelerinden oluşmaktadır.

Young jazz vocalist Esra Gürçay, a student of Randy Esen and Güç Başar Gülle, will take her place on the festival stage with the band she founded in 2022. We would like to thank Midtown for hosting the festival.

The group's repertoire includes traditional and modern jazz standards as well as jazz-fusion, funk, neo-soul and original compositions. Esra Gürçay Quartet was one of the winners of the Young Jazz+ 23 competition organized by İKSV in 2023, and was entitled to record and release their first original compositions under the sponsorship of İKSV and Sony Music label. In the same year, Esra Gürçay participated in the Nardis Young Jazz Vocal Competition and received an award. The band has been performing on many stages such as Istanbul Jazz Festival, Akra Jazz Festival, Nardis Jazz Club, Pera77 and Gregor Jazz Club and this year they will be performing for the first time at the International Bodrum Jazz Festival.

Guitarist Önder Focan, one of the pioneers of jazz music in Türkiye, meets jazz lovers this time with bassist Enver Muhamedi and drummer Burak Cihangirli, two of the most acclaimed and in-demand jazz musicians of the new generation. Önder Focan Trio will be accompanied by Güneş Cengiz, who won an award at the 19th Nardis Young Jazz Vocal Competition. We would like to thank Midtown for hosting the event.

Önder Focan Trio has given many successful concerts in Türkiye and abroad, including the Buenos Aires Jazz Festival in Argentina in November 2018 and the Bansko Jazz Festival in Bulgaria in 2023, and released the critically acclaimed albums Nu Book in 2020 and is Aubergine in 2022.

The group's repertoire consists of Önder Focan's arrangements of jazz standards and pieces from various sources for this dynamic group and Önder Focan compositions.
